NEW AND HAPPENING TODAY
 
Yosemite Valley Parking and Road Construction
Northside Drive between Sentinel Drive and Yosemite Lodge opened and returned to two-way traffic on Saturday evening (11/18). Northside Drive and Southside Drive will remain two-way detours until first thing Monday morning (11/20). 
 
Contractors will continue work on culvert headwalls on El Portal Road west of Pohono Bridge. There will be short delays (<10 minutes).  (L. Acree)

Medical Clinic Holiday Closure

 

Yosemite Medical Clinic will be closed Thursday, November 23 in observance of Thanksgiving Day, a federal holiday. As usual, ambulance response will be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by calling 911.  (C. Griffin)

Scoping Projects for Servicewide Comprehensive Call - 12/7 Project Planning Meeting
Are you preparing a new PMIS for the SCC? Are you updating an existing project? The Project Planning Meeting can help you to determine project scope, pre-design study needs, and other considerations when scoping a project and planning ahead. 
 
Contact Renea Kennec or Madelyn Ruffner in compliance to be added to the 12/7 Project Planning Meeting agenda. Given the holiday, they can still get you on the agenda if contacted by 11/27. Take advantage of this "one-stop" opportunity to discuss projects with subject matter experts and set your project up for success early on! Wapama Falls Trail Open
The Wapama Falls Trail was subjected to a temporary closure on Friday, November 17th while damage to the Wapama Falls Bridge and a significant rock fall release between the tunnel at O'Shaughnessy Dam and the Beehive Trail Junction could be assessed. Wapama Falls trail reopened to the public Saturday, November 18th. Damage to the Wapama Falls bridge and a rock slide that impacted a section of the trail 3/4 of a mile from the trailhead initiated the temporary closure.  (M. Eckert, N. Lovewell)

CONSTRUCTION & TRAFFIC DELAYS
 
Yosemite Valley Building Demolition
The abatement and demolition of the AAC Center began on Monday, November 6th and will continue through November 22nd, with the building demolition phase scheduled November 27th – December 18th. The accessible pedestrian pathway from the new Yosemite Village Day Use Parking Area to Yosemite Village (to the Village Store, Visitors Center, etc.) will not be blocked and will have chain link fencing on the interior side for visitor protection.  The site will be restored to a seasonal wetland in 2018.  (D.
