Today: Sunny, breezy. Not as cool. Highs 49 to 57 at 5000 feet...41 to 51 at 8000 feet. Northeast winds around 25 mph in the morning. Gusts up to 45 mph. Over higher elevations, northeast winds around 25 mph with gusts to around 45 mph.

Tonight: Clear. Lows 30 to 40 at 5000 feet...22 to 32 at 8000 feet.

Tomorrow: Sunny. Highs 53 to 63 at 5000 feet...45 to 55 at 8000 feet.

The NPS Facilities Division is continuing to conduct the Electric Power System Studies and ARC Flash Hazard Reduction Analysis. If your facility or building has standby or emergency power, these outages will not affect that capability. The outage schedule for this week is as follows:

EPTS Slide Show Tonight

Lawrence Garber “Sierra Leone – There and Back Again.”


Lawrence will be documenting his experience as a Peace Corps Education Volunteer in Sierra Leone 2013-14, Namibia 2015 and Sierra Leone 2016. He will share personal stories to shed light on a beautiful land whose stories we in the global North too often do not access. He will provide a counter narrative to the Ebola crisis, Blood Diamonds and Civil War. From there, Lawrence will explore how questions of loyalty, service and equity continue to affect his relationship with this land that he loves.  (P. Amstutz)

Valley Museum/District Building Electrical Rehabilitation Project Information Meeting December 6 at 10:00 am

There will be a Project Information Meeting for the Valley Museum/District Building Electrical Rehabilitation Project at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 6.  We initially meet in the building lobby, and if necessary, move to a more appropriate space, depending on attendance. 


During this meeting we will explain the project goals, the project schedule, the rehabilitation process, and what the building tenants can expect over the next several months, and we will then attempt to answer as many questions was we can.

Yosemite Valley Building Demolition

The abatement and demolition of the AAC Center began on Monday, November 6th and will continue through November 22nd, with the building demolition phase scheduled November 27th – December 18th. The accessible pedestrian pathway from the new Yosemite Village Day Use Parking Area to Yosemite Village (to the Village Store, Visitors Center, etc.) will not be blocked and will have chain link fencing on the interior side for visitor protection.  The site will be restored to a seasonal wetland in 2018.  (D.
