Special Thanks To Research Library/Uniform Cache Volunteers
Over the weekend the following students/future librarians from San Jose State University Library Science Program volunteered in Yosemite's Research Library with Virginia Sanchez: Sunny Buckarma, Alyse Dunavant-Jone, Heather Kiger, Mary Vasuda, Amy Nykamp, Jonathan Christiansen
These wonderful individuals also volunteered their skills to organize the uniform cache. We're not sure whether the clothing is filed by the Dewey Decimal System or the Library of Congress Classification, but it sure is easier now to find pants and shirts! Please keep the cache looking this way by folding and hanging unwanted items and returning them to the appropriate area for the next employee. And if you get a chance, stop by the Research Library (open 10-4) to thank the volunteers for their great work. (J. Crossland)

CONSTRUCTION & TRAFFIC DELAYS
Emergency Services Complex
Work on the inside is nearing completion with lights, fixtures, flooring, doors, and cabinets being installed. Construction of decks, painting, and roofing continues. Site work has resumed with the last couple of concrete pours being completed in the next week. There was a glitch with the IT/Telecom equipment that was planned to go into the basement, but as with other building basements for which water had not been an issue in the memorable past, water continued to come in, despite the installation of a sump pump. Therefore, the IT/Telecom equipment is being relocated to a new room carved out of the first floor. This is delaying the project somewhat until all of the details can be worked out and conduit and cables re-routed. Construction of the new Training Room, Garage Bays, and Fire Engine Bay is nearly complete, with lights, flooring, one roll-up door, and painting remaining. The Garage/Training Room building is very close to completion, however acceptance and occupancy must wait for the relocation of the IT/Telecom equipment in the main SAR/Fire Building as well so the fire alarm, heating and cooling systems, and the phones can be connected and tested. Completion is projected in late May or June. (K. White)
Valley Loop Road Work
Between now and Memorial Day, contractors will install culverts between El Capitan Crossover and Pohono Bridge on Northside Drive. They will completely close one lane during the week with rare 30 minute delays of both lanes. Expect slow traffic during the evening commute. No work will take place on weekends. (L. Acree)
