One of the most important things you can do this summer is drive safely. Safe driving means abiding by the speed limit; never texting, tailgating, or passing inappropriately; watching for wildlife; and making room for walkers and bicyclists. Too many people are speeding down the Merced River canyon and along the El Portal frontage road. Please, for everyone's sake, make it a priority to drive safely this summer. Arrive alive! (R. Mazur)
ArcGIS 10.4.1 is here! There is a new installation process that is largely automated and for most users will not require admin rights. Directions for how to install/upgrade are in the YOSE EGIS User Manual at: http://gis.yose.nps.gov/
Everyone is asked to upgrade this week if possible. Please note that if you create mxds (map documents) in 10.4.1, previous version users (those on 10.2.2 or 10.3) will be unable to open them unless you do a "Save As" back to their ArcGIS version.
If there is some reason you are hesitant to upgrade (an extension that is discontinued, etc), please email email@example.com
The new package includes:
- ArcGIS 10.4.1 (Professional/ArcInfo w/ floating license set to gislic.nps.gov)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client
- SEKIsql, YOSEDB, and YOSEGIS aliases
- NPS Theme Manager for ArcGIS 10.4.1

- NPS Fonts
- FLEXLM_TIMEOUT environment variable

It does not include:

- Carrying over user's interface configuration from a previous version (though old files in their user profile may still exist, see http://support.esri.com/te

CONSTRUCTION & TRAFFIC DELAYS
Emergency Services Complex
Work on the inside is nearing completion with lights, fixtures, flooring, doors, and cabinets being installed. Construction of decks, painting, and roofing continues. Site work has resumed with the last couple of concrete pours being completed in the next week. There was a glitch with the IT/Telecom equipment that was planned to go into the basement, but as with other building basements for which water had not been an issue in the memorable past, water continued to come in, despite the installation of a sump pump. Therefore, the IT/Telecom equipment is being relocated to a new room carved out of the first floor. This is delaying the project somewhat until all of the details can be worked out and conduit and cables re-routed. Construction of the new Training Room, Garage Bays, and Fire Engine Bay is nearly complete, with lights, flooring, one roll-up door, and painting remaining. The Garage/Training Room building is very close to completion, however acceptance and occupancy must wait for the relocation of the IT/Telecom equipment in the main SAR/Fire Building as well so the fire alarm, heating and cooling systems, and the phones can be connected and tested. Completion is projected in late May or June. (K. White)
Valley Loop Road Work
Between now and Memorial Day, contractors will install culverts between El Capitan Crossover and Pohono Bridge on Northside Drive. They will completely close one lane during the week with rare 30 minute delays of both lanes. Expect slow traffic during the evening commute. No work will take place on weekends. (L. Acree)
Wawona Road Delays

They have started near the southern park boundary(Big Creek Area) and will be moving to Avalanche Creek Area. For more information contact Michael Pieper at 209-200-1131. (M. Pieper)
